“In the first part of the documentary Skriftsamleren, NRK journalists from “Brennpunkt” investigates antique collector Martin Schøyen who tried to sell his huge handwriting collection to the Norwegian authorities for about NOK 850 million. However, the collection is highly controversial, as parts of the collection lack the history of ownership and are smuggled out of Afghanistan and Pakistan. In the second part, the journalists shows how academics can be used in a cleansing process of controversial collections – collections that often have objects without a clear provenance.” (From NRK).
